Tom Heslop was born in Horsham in 1984 and studied at Leeds College of Art & Design between 2003 and 2004 and then at Goldsmiths College, University of London from 2004 to 2007.
Heslop’s practice amalgamates text and images from a wide variety of sources, from for instance, ‘Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark to Gustave Flaubert’s ‘Salammbo’. He creates new twisted tales with tenuous suggestions of the original source leaving the viewer with vague recollections of the appropriated works.
