matthew robinson

Matthew Robinson was born in Prestatyn in 1984 and studied at Leeds College of Art & Design between 2002 and 2003 and then at Chelsea College of Art & Design from 2004 to 2007.

His recent exhibitions include: Tournament, Spitalfields, London and The Sculpture Show, Trinity Buoy Wharf, London.

He is about to begin an MFA in Fine Art at the Slade School of Art.

Robinson’s work is both derived from and is dependant upon architecture. His interest lies in the acts of building and demolition, of construction and deconstruction. ‘Rattus Rattus’, the work shown in ex, is a linear structure, made of wire and based on an architectural form. It is a sculptural extension of an ongoing drawing practice.
