Jon Garlick

Jon Garlick was born in Leeds in 1985 and studied at Leeds College of Art & Design between 2003 and 2004 and then at Central St Martin’s College of Art & Design from 2004 to 2007.

He recently exhibited in Direction 2007, Lethaby Gallery, Central St Martin’s.

In Garlick’s video installation ‘HenryV’ narrative structures have been re-interpreted and re-contextualised through his re-editing of existing film footage from Laurence Oliver’s production of Henry V (1944). The work continues an investigation into the audio-visual image, its unique (non) narrative language and where, in between these two entities, lays the real and the fantastical.
