Alex Chocholko was born in Leeds in 1987. He is currently on the BA Fine Art course at Middlesex University.
He recently exhibited in a collaborative exhibition between students of Middlesex University and Byam Shaw School of Art in Feb 2008 and in 71 Days, The Transient Gallery in December 2006. He has a forthcoming exhibition at MXXX11 Gallery, Leeds later in 2008.
Chocholko’s current interest lies in the relationship between the performative act and the construction of paintings. For Interim he has produced a painting consisting of ten thousand 1cm coloured squares. The work was constructed by rolling a dice ten thousand times in order to allocate a number and corresponding colour to each square. The six colours used were selected from a Dulux shade card.
